I have been a sports fan all my life. I grew up in Pittsburgh sports fan, and I did join a few bandwagons of other teams. I used a blog about Pitt sports, but now I just podcast while driving my car.

Tom (the dad), Nick (the son) are a father-son duo who bond over the Pittsburgh Steelers through the Steelers Outpost Podcast.  We are part of the Pittsburgh diaspora, living in lands far from Pittsburgh, but still emotionally attached to the Black and Gold. Like the waves of the Terrible Loyalists who dominate foreign stadiums each Sunday, we are acolytes of a winning tradition. We are not mercenary sports writers limited to box scores, statistics and hype. We know the stories and we separate hype from fiction.  Are we conflicted? Of course we are! But like any family, we disagree, we argue, we fight and then we hug it out like bros…because it’s personal.

Even after being raised in State College and graduating from Penn State in 2019 I’m still not sick of talking about the Nittany Lions. I’ve always had a habit of spending most every Fall Saturday at Beaver Stadium, though recently I’ve spend more time in the press box than in the stands. Quick to make predictions, results may very.

I’m the VT fan that would rather tell you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear. Virginia Tech does not employ me in any way, so I can say exactly what I want and sleep well at night. These opinions are mine and mine only, so don’t send them emails trying to get me cancelled.
